Inspirations | February

Inspirations | February

First off, I would just like to say I am truly sorry for the lack of posts that have been coming in the past month or two! School has been crazy busy and joining my sorority has made it even more busy. But I  promise that I will get back on track and have more posts more frequently! With that being said...here is what you came for! My top five inspirations for the month!

1. Fashion Week
February was the beginning of fashion weeks for Autumn/Winter 2014-15 ready-to-wear so obviously some of my inspiration from the month is going to come from there! I have been seeing a lot of over-sized coats, plaid, prints, turtleneck sweater, crop tops, and knee-high boots. So it is say to say that I am ecstatic for that season to come along!

2. Music
This month has also been full of studying and writing papers for all my different classes. The Lumineers' song "Stubborn Love" and The Civil Wars' song "Poison and Wine" are my go-to songs to get me in the mood. It just gives you this feel good vibe. Plus, they are both boho-y and indie bands so it also gives me inspiration to pick out more boho clothing.

3. Flowers
I don't know where it came from but lately I have been re-blogging more and more flowers onto my Tumblr. I don't know if it's the rich colors in them or if they remind me of summer and the beach, but it just makes me want to put a flowy dress on, pair it with a sick pair of gladiators, and drive around with my windows down.

4. Rings
Rings are the one thing that I am constantly on the look out for. I could not be more obsessed with one item than I am with rings. I think that they can make an outfit more edgy or more feminine. Some of them can be so cool to look at and you can base a whole outfit or anything really off of one ring.

5. Beaches
When is anyone NOT inspired by the beaches, am i right?! I am going on spring break this month and all of last month (and even now!) I have been counting down the days till my feet are in the sand. I think that beaches are one of the most relaxing places that anyone can be. My style has taken a more boho, Australian look plus a hipster edge to it and pictures of the beaches and ocean really help me with my own style.

There are my top five inspirations and more posts will be coming later this week! Until next time.

E.

LFW AW14 Round up

London Fashion Week AW14, once again, did not disappoint. There was a lot of color, prints, sheer, over-sized coats and sweaters. My top three shows did all of those things to perfection and that is what I am going to show you today! My top three shows in no particular order were Tom Ford, Burberry Prorsum, and House of Holland. Now let's see my favorite looks!

Tom Ford

Burberry Prorsum

House of Holland

Not even trying to exaggerate, but I genuinely need every outfit that I have posted above. Tom Ford is very grunge and bad-girl chic. Burberry Prorsum is more flowy and light with the Aztec patterns. Then you have House of Holland that just comes out with a bang. It is full of spunk and color. I cannot wait to try and conquer these looks on my college girl budget this coming autumn/winter season.
Until next time!

I got all of the picture above from Vogue UK.

Quilted + Leather

Jacket Urban Outfitters | Sweater Zara | Leggings Target | Shoes Steve Madden | Sunnies Ray Bans | Rings ASOS & Forever 21

I am back with more outfit posts! My apologizes for the lack of and I promise that there will be more! While trying to figure what I was going to wear, I went through multiple outfits until I found this perfect mash of feminine and edgy. The quilted sweater against the army green and leather makes for a perfect grunge look without going overboard.
Shop a similar look to the one I'm wearing HERE!

Inspired | January

To let you all in on a little secret, I have started my own journal for this year to write down and print out pictures of all of my inspirations ranging from clothes, to cities, to beaches, and to even my favorite little boy-band. I got my journal from Anthropologie and it is my favorite thing I have ever bought myself. I was working on my journal earlier and it gave me the idea for this post. I want to show you guys what my top inspirations for this month are and I will try (fingers crossed) to do this for every month so you can see what I am loving and what is inspiring me. It is to also help you guys get inspired and maybe even push you to start writing in a journal as well.

First things first, here is a picture of my journal and pictures that I have yet to glue into it!

Top 5 Inspirations for this Month:
1. My mantra for the this year.
This phrase is so simple yet so powerful to me. I want nothing more than to be as "me" as I can be this year, no hold backs.

2. My inspiration for my journal in the first place!
I saw this journal one of the first few days of the new year and it inspired me to create my own.

3. Jars full of money to travel the world.
I have always tried to do this but I always end up spending the money! So this inspires me to actually save up the money and go see the places that I so desperately want to see.

4. Bad-ass pictures
This picture just makes me want to live the rest of this year with no regrets. It makes me want to be young and dumb because now is the perfect time to make mistakes and actually live life.

And last but not least...
5.  Fashion
This is pretty much how I love to dress. I love the hipster edge with the flannels and the summer-y feel with the flower head bands.

Those are my top five inspirations for the month! Hope it helped to inspire you and make you want to be more yourself! Until next time.
